# Create scene

## Add the scene title

The scene title will be displayed on the title bar on the home page

On the try-on preview page, there is a "Explore More" **button** at the bottom of this page. If do not add a link to this **button** it will default jump to the website: <https://tryon.kivisense.com/>

If you add a link to this **button** it will jump to the link you added.

## Add the product SKU

SKU is used for you to distinguish products, generally the information of the Reference, style and item number.

## Upload shoes model&#x20;

The shoes model needs to be exported in a glb format file according to the requirements of the specification about model posture.&#x20;

## Upload the product thumbnail

The product thumbnail in the circle box will be used as a shoe photo at the bottom of the try-on preview page. And the thumbnail will be displayed in the scene list.&#x20;

You need to upload a thumbnail with **520x520** pixel **.** <br>

## Select the applicable mask model

In the real world , when looking at the shoes we are wearing, we can not see the whole shoes from some angles. Masks use this theory to simulate the experience that the shoes may be covered during try-on.

**Kivisense Try-On** has preset some **obj masks** to adapt the different common scenes.

To the special scenes, you can upload you preferred obj mask to the plaform to adapt your scene.

# Set model parameters adjustment during try-on preview

In some special situations, there are a lot of factors will impact the experience of try-on. Hence, we introduced the parameters adjustment function to help our users get a better Try-On experience.&#x20;

We can take the real try-on experience as a reference based on the current style or the same type shoes. For example:

* The pointed shoes will be longer than the toe position
* The sole of high heel is lower than that of the foot
* ...

What parameters can be adjusted for perfect effects and how to do it? Please read the below article .

## Exporting from other applications&#x20;

First of all, it is highly recommended that you properly export the shoes model according to our standard posture to be compatible with our platform and components.

The definition of the XYZ axis is the basis for parameters settings. As shown in the picture above, after the model is correctly exported, the three-dimensional coordinates are defined as follows:

* The X-axis is the red coordinate that represents the width of the shoes from left to right
* The Y-axis is the blue coordinate that represents the length from shoes toe cap to heel
* The Z-axis is the green coordinate that represents the height from vamp to sole

## **Detailed Instructions for Parameters**

Next, we will explain in detail which parameters can be edited and the corresponding adjustment effects.

### **Adjust the position**

Respectively take the X, Y, and Z axes as horizontal lines and move along them.

Below is the position of moving the X-axis:

### **Adjust the rotation**

Respectively take the X, Y, and Z axes as horizontal lines and rotate around them.

### **Scale**

As mentioned above, the X, Y, and Z axes represent width, length, and height, respectively, and then adjust them as needed.

You can adjust the width, length and height synchronously, as shown in the button below. If adjusted separately, be sure to ensure a normal shoe shape.

**Please kindly note that the adjusted data is equal to the current data multiplied by (1+ Step value), which means that when resizing, it scales based on the current data, rather than simply increasing or subtracting it.**

> These are the three parameters that can be adjusted. You can adjust a certain axis of a parameter according to the actual situation.

For example, the try-on effect of this sneaker is shown in the image below, and you can adjust the following parameters for better effects.

* Increase the size of the shoes so that it covers the foot
* Increase the X-axis rotation value so that the 3D model is at the same level as the shoes you are wearing
* Reduce the Z-axis height so that the sole of the model is at the same level as that of your real shoes&#x20;

Here is an example of parameter adjustment. You can optimize the try-on effect based on your actual situation.&#x20;

## **Adjustment Object**

When setting parameters, the shoes model and masks are both the adjustment objects and share the above adjustment parameters. The shoes model is selected by default.&#x20;

### Shoes model

The program will automatically mirror the parameters of the left and right shoes so you don't have to distinguish between them.

### Mask

In fact, when we view the shoes we're wearing, there are certain angles where we can't see. A mask works on this principle, meaning it simulates a situation in which a shoe might be obscured during the virtual try-on.

As shown in the picture above, the insole and heel can't be seen from the current perspective, so the shoes in AR should also be simulated in this way.&#x20;

Before adjusting, you first need to select the adjustment object as “Mask”. When selected, a new button will prompt you to switch between “Show the Mask” or “Hide the Mask”.

The corresponding effects are as follows：

Then adjust the mask parameters step by step according to the actual situation. Please note that the shoes should be intact without any damage during adjusting, and the obscuration needs to be simulated as much as possible.

We prefer to display the mask first, then hide the mask and check the effect after the parameters adjustment. You can do it according to your preference.

## **Step-size Unit**

The step value is the unit in which the limit can be adjusted accordingly by clicking on the "+" or "-" once. The larger the step value, the greater the limit of adjustment.

# Export shoes model from other applications

### Use Autodesk® Maya® to export models in .fbx format

Additionally, we support the models from other 3D modeling applications with .fbx format.&#x20;

### Part 1. Get UID and SKU on Kivisense AR Try-on SaaS Platform

Sign up for a free account on the [Kivisense AR Try-on SaaS Platform](https://tryon.kivisense.com/dashboard) and create at least one try-on scenario. Here is a detailed guide on [how to create AR try-on in 2 minutes](https://tryon-docs.kivisense.com/getting-started/create-scene).

**NOTE:** Creating a try-on on your Shopify or any other website requires two important parameters, which are the user ID (UID) and the scenario SKU.

Go to your account profile, click on the "Account Center" and directly copy your UID.

Inputting product SKU information is needed when creating your scenario, such as reference, style, item number, and this is your scenario SKU. Please note that the SKU value of the same account can’t be duplicated.

Add the \<iframe> tag to where you want to embed try-on and **set the “allow” attribute to “camera”**.

Kindly not that there are three query parameters in this link, with the following meanings:

* **user:** UID is a required parameter and you can see how to get it in Part 1.&#x20;
* **sku:** Your Product SKU, such as reference, style, item number, is also a required parameter.&#x20;
* **lang:** The page language is optional, and the default is the browser language. We support Chinese, English, and Portuguese. If this parameter is not provided, the browser's language will be used by default. If the browser's language is not within the supported range, English will be used as the default. The parameter value follows the "IETF BCP 47" standard, and the parameter format is "language-REGION". Currently supported values are <mark style="background-color:green;">zh-CN</mark> / <mark style="background-color:green;">en-US</mark> / <mark style="background-color:green;">pt-BR</mark> .

**Optional Parameters:**

**no-footer:** When set to 1, it hides the product menu at the bottom of the AR try-on page. If any other value is provided or the parameter is omitted, the bottom menu will be displayed.

**Auto-init**: When the 3D display feature is enabled in the current scene, there is no impact. If the 3D display is not enabled and the value "1" is passed, the system will attempt to <mark style="background-color:green;">**automatically activate the camera**</mark> for an AR experience when the page is opened. If the browser does not support automatic activation, this parameter will be ignored. Passing other values or omitting the parameter will lead to the landing page, where the user can manually initiate the AR experience by tapping.

### **Instructions for Object Scanning** <a href="#id-sao-miao-jian-mo-ying-wen-ban-instructionsforobjectscanning" id="id-sao-miao-jian-mo-ying-wen-ban-instructionsforobjectscanning"></a>

* Put the object on a motionless and pure white board. A mini-photo-studio is recommended for you.
* Light: ensure the light is well-lit from all sides and avoid the dimming light or shades. Buying supplementary lights will be a great option for you.
* Shooting: Cover even and comprehensive with multiple perspectives, including elevation, head-up, 45-degree overlooking and 90-degree overlooking. 18-36 photos are recommended for each perspective, a total of 72-144 photos is recommended. But the total number of photos is not recommended to exceed 200, and all photos in each perspective of photos are separated at the same angle.
* Image quality: The the camera should close to the object as possible and ensure the subject in your photos as complete as possible. Please ensure that the shooting is no out of focus, motion blur and shake blur as much as possible.
* Other: During taking photos, don’t put the camera behind the glass. If you want to shoot the bottom of the object, please flip the object and continue shooting.

* Build a studio to ensure the scanned object on the motionless white plane.
* Make the light of the object even and soft via multiple supplementary lights.
* The object is put on a wheel so that it can be took with a certain angle of each rotation.
* The shooting device is fixed to the tripod in order to make the shooting without out of focus, motion blur and shake blur.

Shooting at a certain perspective, it is to ensure that the previous picture overlaps more than 70% of the latter picture, which is convenient for the program to calculate and model.

It is showing the perspectives that need to take photos from. The reason for why taking photos from multiple perspectives to collect the images as many as possible is let the program collects image data from all perspectives is to ensure  the model will be generated with a good quality. If there is some missing angle image data, the program will calculate some invalid data, resulting in the model with errors.

Open the "File" APP and find the “Model scanned by Kivisense " folder, then you will see the Captures folder. Tap on the previously collected object image data and select a folder for long press to share it to your Mac via Airdrop.

Email the scanned object image data to **<sales@kivisense.com>**

At present, the model is temporarily generated and processed by Kivisense Officially. Then the model will be to you with .glb and .USDZ format.

APG is coming soon, a tool to generate models that can directly generate .usdz model files with different maps and triangle numbers, then optimize and compress the size of maps, and convert model formats, after that will provide Kivicube engine experience links or .glb model files.

# Guidelines for 3D Model Creation and Uploading

**Model Format:**

* Supported formats: GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ
* Strongly recommend uploading in GLB format.
* Supported upload format: ZIP
* Strongly recommend that the GLB, GLTF, FBX, OBJ files be within 10MB, with 5MB being ideal.

**Model Export and Conversion:**

* It is recommended to export FBX from modeling software (such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, Cinema 4D) and then convert it to GLB.
* Alternatively, you can export GLB directly from the modeling software.
* Unity can also be used to export GLB directly.

**Model Creation:**

* Number of meshes per model ≤ 10; total for the entire scene ≤ 50. It is recommended to have ≤ 5 meshes per model and ≤ 10 for the entire scene.
* Number of triangles per model ≤ 50,000; total for the entire scene ≤ 200,000. It is recommended to have ≤ 30,000 triangles per model and ≤ 60,000 for the entire scene.
* Model, model nodes, and mesh names should only contain letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens. Chinese characters, spaces, and special characters are not supported.
* Ensure that all objects in the model have unique names.
* Use quads for modeling; triangles can be used in special cases.
* Polygon modeling is required.
* The model’s scale parameter must not be zero or negative.
* Place the model's pivot point at the geometric center or bottom center of the model, and then align it with the origin point.
* No isolated vertices.
* No overlapping vertices.
* No duplicate faces or coplanar faces.
* Set correct normals.
* Remove all unused objects from the model (such as empty objects, hidden objects, and auxiliary objects).
* Reset model transformations: Scale should be 1; Rotation should be 0; Position should be 0.
* Avoid poles in the model whenever possible.
* Ensure a reasonable topology, with neat and even edge loops.
* To achieve better rendering results with assets containing transparent components, use separate meshes and materials for transparent and opaque parts.
* Reset any transformation data, construction history, and modifier stacks to avoid export discrepancies.
* It is recommended to keep the model’s size consistent with real-world objects.

**UV Layout:**

* No noticeable texture stretching on the model.
* UV seams should be hidden in less visible areas of the model.
* No UV overlapping.
* UV maps should be as flat as possible, making full use of the texture space.
* Multiple UV sets are not currently supported.
* Tiled textures are not currently supported.

**Materials and Textures:**

* Number of materials per model ≤ 10; total for the entire scene ≤ 40. It is recommended to have ≤ 5 materials per model and ≤ 10 for the entire scene.
* Number of textures per model ≤ 10; total for the entire scene ≤ 40. It is recommended to have ≤ 5 textures per model and ≤ 10 for the entire scene.
* Material and texture names should only contain letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens. Chinese characters, spaces, and special characters are not supported.
* Ensure that material and texture names are unique.
* Supported texture formats: PNG, JPG, JPEG.
* Maximum texture size: 2048x2048. It is recommended that texture sizes be powers of two (e.g., 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048).
* It is recommended to use image compression software to reduce texture sizes.
* PBR materials are supported (including Metallic-Roughness and Specular-Glossiness workflows).
* Unlit materials are supported.

**Animation:**

* Number of animations per model ≤ 10; total for the entire scene ≤ 40. It is recommended to have ≤ 5 animations per model and ≤ 10 for the entire scene.
* Number of bones per model ≤ 80; total for the entire scene ≤ 160. It is recommended to have ≤ 60 bones per model and ≤ 120 for the entire scene.
* Number of blend shapes per model ≤ 50; total for the entire scene ≤ 100. It is recommended to have ≤ 30 blend shapes per model and ≤ 60 for the entire scene.
* Bone, blend shape, and animation names should only contain letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens. Chinese characters, spaces, and special characters are not supported.
* Ensure that animation, blend shape, and bone names are unique.
* Transform animations, skeletal animations, and blend shape animations are supported; vertex animations are not currently supported.
* Blender 3.0+ has issues with exporting blend shape animations; it is recommended to use Blender 2.9.
* The maximum number of bones influencing a vertex should be ≤ 4 (each vertex can be influenced by up to 4 bones when skinned).
* The recommended animation frame rate is 30 FPS.
* When creating animations, do not scale the model's mesh or bones to zero or negative values.
* Do not name any bone "root".
* The root bone should not carry animation. If there is an animation on the root bone, an empty parent bone should be added.

**Lighting and Environment:**

* Supports directional light and ambient light.
* Supports environment maps.

### gITF and glb File Upload Guidelines:

#### 1. Quantization is not supported.

Solution: Do not apply quantization compression when exporting glb or glTF files.

#### 2. Meshopt compression is not supported.

Solution: Do not use meshopt compression when exporting glb or glTF files.

#### 3. Draco compression is not supported.

Solution: Do not use Draco compression when exporting glb or glTF files.

#### 4. Your file contains extensions that are not supported by Kivisense VTO.

a. Currently, we support the following extensions:KHR\_lights\_punctual

b. KHR\_materials\_unlit

c. KHR\_texture\_transform

d. KHR\_materials\_pbrSpecularGlossiness

#### 5. There is an error with your file.

Cause: This may be due to a malfunction in the software you used to export the glTF or glb file, resulting in an incorrect file.
